Green Lantern App
-
Readers can now read books in multiple languages. Each book page can be instantly translated — just like Google Translate’s full-page feature — so users can enjoy stories in any language they choose.
-
Every book now includes a “Read Aloud” button that links directly to a YouTube video of the story being read aloud. This helps users listen and follow along easily.
-
Books are automatically sorted by popularity, showing the most-read and loved stories at the top of the page — our version of a Green Lantern Bestseller list.
-
Users can search for any book easily.
If time allows, we plan to add an AI recommendation system that suggests books based on each reader’s interests and reading history. -
Our worksheets, previously hosted on Google Docs or Google Forms, are now integrated directly into the app.
When users complete a quiz, the app automatically grades their answers — complete with colorful fireworks and celebratory effects for correct answers, making learning fun and rewarding!
-
Green Lantern introduces online classrooms that divide lessons by level and theme.
Each classroom offers books and worksheets suited for its learners — from children to adults learning new languages or older readers exploring world folklore.
Green Lantern is a global learning community where anyone can grow through stories.

Keeping Folklore Alive: The People Who Keep It Breathing Today

Julia Riew — Composer & Storyteller
Julia Riew first introduced Dive as her Harvard senior thesis, a musical inspired by the folktale of Shimcheong. When she began sharing songs from the show online, they spread quickly and the project became known as a “Korean Disney princess” musical. The project is now in development with the American Repertory Theater.
Her work has also reached young readers through The Last Tiger, a New York Times bestselling novel that blends history and myth to reimagine her grandparents’ story.
Julia has described storytelling as her way of practicing empathy and stepping into new worlds. At Green Lantern, we see that same power in folktales. These are stories that carry culture, teach values, and give children everywhere a chance to dream beyond their circumstances.
